Common Questions
A few things worth knowing before we talk.
Who do you work with?
My work centers on the body, culture, and health/medical experiences, along with a particular affinity for working with BIPOC, immigrant, and diaspora folks, especially those of Asian descent. I also work with a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship or family conflict. See Counseling for more on how I work with each.
Do you offer supervision as well as counseling?
Yes. I offer clinical supervision for LPCCs in CO and R-DMTs working toward BC-DMT credentialing. See the Supervision page for details on that work.
Do you take insurance?
I don't bill insurance directly, but I can provide an invoice (“super-bill”) for you to submit for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Full pricing is on the Rates page.
What does a somatic approach actually look like in session?
We'll talk, and we'll also tune into your body as we do, such as noticing tension, breath, or a small urge to move. Instead of only talking about what happened, we might pause on a sensation as it comes up, to notice where it wants to take us. The Counseling page contains more on this.
Is this in-person or virtual?
Both. Sessions take place in-person in Longmont or virtual by video. Virtual sessions require you to reside and be present in Colorado at the time of session.
How often will we meet?
Most clients start weekly, then settle into a cadence that fits their life.
What’s your cancellation policy?
Please provide at least 24 hours' notice. Late cancellations and no-shows are billed at the full session rate. More information on the Rates page
Is what I share confidential?
Yes, with the limits required by law (for example, risk of harm to yourself or others). Note that a super-bill submitted for reimbursement shares your diagnosis with your insurer, and confidentiality can't be guaranteed once it leaves my office. See the Privacy Policy for full detail on how your information is protected under HIPAA.
This covers what comes up most, but every situation is its own.
Nothing here replaces an actual conversation.
Still have a question? I'd love to hear from you.
